Photoshop Eyedropper Tool: Advance Color Sampler

With the Photoshop Eyedropper tool
, you can click anywhere in open image to grab the color and assign to Foreground color or use Alt(Option) + Click to assign color to Background color.
Note: While using Painting tool, Gradient tool or Paint Bucket tool you can quickly take a sample color and assign to Foreground color by temporary switch to Eyedropper Tool by hold down Alt(Option) key.
You can also specify the area sampled by the Eyedropper tool to Point Sample, 3 by 3 Average or 5 by 5 Average at the tool option bar. For example, if you set the eyedropper to sample the color to 3 by 3 Average, you will got color values of a 3-by-3-pixel area under the pointer. Modifying the sample size of the eyedropper affects the color readouts displayed in the Info palette.

Like other tools, while you hover the cursor over the image, you can read-out the color value from Info Palette. With Photoshop Eyedropper tool or Color Sampler Tool you can assign up to four fixed color sampler point, in-case you need a precise color adjustment. The Color Samplers
display color information for one or more locations in the image. These samplers are saved in the image, so you can refer to them repeatedly as you work, even if you close and reopen the image.

When you work with a color adjustment dialog box, the Info palette displays two sets of color values for the pixels under the pointer, as describe above. The value in the left column is the original color value. The value in the right column is the color value after the adjustment is made.
To add color Sampler Point:
- Select Eyedropper tool (I)
and Shift + Click on the color you want to sampler. - Select Color Sampler Tool (I)
and Click on the color you want to sampler.
To Move Color Sampler Point:
- Select Eyedropper tool (I)
, hold-down Ctrl(Command) and Drag the sample point to new location. - Select Color Sampler Tool (I)
and Drag the sample point to new location.
To delete Color Sampler Point:
- Move Color Sampler Point outside the image canvas.
- With Color Sampler Tool (I)
select, hold down Alt(Option) until the pointer becomes a scissors
and click the sampler. - Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) a sampler, and then choose Delete from the pop-up menu.
- To delete all color samplers, click Clear in the options bar.
- To delete a color sampler while an adjustment dialog box is open, hold down Alt(Option) + Shift , and click the sampler.
You can also hide or show color sampler in the image by Choose menu View » Extras. If checked, it indicates that color samplers are showing.
