Boost your Photoshop Productivity with Shortcut

To get photoshop in fast track shortcut is very useful speed tool. In photoshop most of command can access though shortcut but only few that will regularly use in general for most of photoshop user and you should memorize it to speed up your work. In this list will cover all general use shortcuts you will have to use it most of time you open photoshop, but if you need more you can download full list of default Photoshop Shortcuts (version 5 and earlier) in pdf at GFX^TM Trevor Morris

Since PhotoShop CS the shortcut are fully customized via menu Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts (alt+shift+ctrl+K) this is useful you to add your own special Shortcuts that you recently use. But for following shortcut that regularly use for most user. It’s good idea for you should leave it as is, so you will not get an headache when you use other machine and this will save if other will use your. Otherwise you may have to save your own custom shortcut with you in your thumb drive. This is the list of shortcuts for mac user should use Command key instead of Ctrl and delete instead of backspace. It’s available in ( ).

Navigation Shortcut :

  • Pan your image: Press and hold spacebar the cursor will chage to hand icon, click and drag your mouse to pan your image
  • Zoom In: Ctrl + Plus Key (+) or Ctrl + Spacebar + Click to zoom in at the click point, the image will zoom in and center at the click point
  • Zoom Out: Ctrl + Minus Key (-) or Ctrl (Command) + alt + Spacebar + Click to zoom out from the click point, the image will zoom out and center at the click point

File Menu:

  • Open Image: Ctrl (Command) + O
  • New Image: Ctrl (Command) + N
  • Save Image: Ctrl (Command) + S
  • Save as: Ctrl (Command) + Shift + S
  • Print: Ctrl (Command) + P
  • Print with Preview: Ctrl (Command) + Alt + P

Edit Menu:

  • Toggle Undo/Redo: Ctrl (Command) + Z
  • Copy current layer in selected area: Ctrl (Command) +C
  • Copy all visible layer in selected area: Ctrl (Command) +Shift +C
  • Paste: Ctrl (Command) + V
  • Free Transform: Ctrl (Command) + T
  • Fill with Current Foreground Color: Alt + Backspace (delete)
  • Fill with Current Background Color: Ctrl (Command)/Alt + Backspace (delete)

Selection:

  • Deselect: Ctrl (Command) + D
  • Reselect last Selection: Ctrl (Command) + Shift + D
  • Inverse Selection: Ctrl (Command)+ Shift + I
  • Feather Selection: Ctrl (Command) + Alt + D

Filter:

  • Apply Last Filter: Ctrl (Command) + F
  • Fade Last Command: Ctrl (Command) + Shift+ F

Tool:

  • Move Tool: V
  • Marquee: M
  • Crop Tool: C
  • Brush Tool: B
  • Clone Stamp: S
  • Pen Tool: P

Other:

  • Copy selection to new Layer: Ctrl (Command) + J
  • Cut selection to new Layer: Ctrl (Command) + Shift+ J
  • Move and Copy Current Layer: in Move tool press and hold Alt
  • Sample Color: in all painting tool press Alt
  • Reset Foreground/Background Color: D
  • Toggle Foreground/Background Color: X
